Do I need to have my own firearm in order to take the course?
No. We will have guns that you will you be able to rent for the course and range time. An additional fee will be added if you need to rent a firearm.
Will I get my Concealed Handgun Permit after the class?
Upon successful completion of our course, you will be able to go to the Louisiana State Police Department website, fill out the online Concealed Handgun Permit application, and pay $125 fee to LSP. You will then have to go to the Louisiana State Police Department on Independence Blvd to get fingerprints. Fingerprints cost $10.00.
Do I have to know how to shoot a gun to take this course?
No. We will help every step of the way. We will get you comfortable with handling a firearm and learn the basics needed to safely handle and fire a firearm.
How much ammunition do you need for the Concealed Handgun Permit Course?
A box of 50 rounds will be sufficient.
How long does my concealed handgun permit last?
You can apply for a 5 year permit or a lifetime permit. 5 year permits cost $125.00 and lifetime permits cost $500.00
What if I have to cancel?
No worries. If you have to cancel, please call or email us to let us know. We will work to get you rescheduled for the next available class.
When do I pay for the course?
Payment is due upon arrival. Once we get you checked in, we will accept cash only at this time.
Does my $125.00 fee for this course include my permit application fee?
No. The fee for this course does not include or go towards the application fee with the Louisiana State Police . These are two separate fees.
Will I get a refund if my application with the Louisiana State Police Department gets denied?
No. You will not get a refund for this course if you are application is denied with LSP.
What is the proper attire for class?
We recommend wearing t-shirt/long sleeve shirt, long pants, and closed toe shoes.
